The saying goes that a dog is not just for Christmas and we're right behind our pet loving friends, but our passion lies with mats instead and we're here to tell you that a mat is not just for winter, oh no, they're for Spring, Summer and Autumn too!
Our sales of entrance mats tend to be effected by seasonality and this just goes to prove that people are more reactive when it comes to buying their mats. When they see mud being traipsed through their front doors, only then do they think, 'Oh My God, I need a mat'. Those with a bit more foresight would have had that mat down before the weather turned and will be excused for being a little smug as, whilst they sit back and relax, their counterparts are reaching for their vacuums and scurrying around trying to find where they left the stain remover.
So, we say to you, become more proactive, think ahead and buy your entrance mats before you realise how much you needed them. Still not convinced? There are other reasons why you should ensure you have entrance mats in your building over the drier months.
Think about why we love the summer here in the UK. One of the main reasons is because we are generally starved of the sunshine and summer makes us optimistic that warm weather awaits. Year after year we hang onto the hope that, when summer does finally arrive (21st June is the official date by the way), the clouds will suddenly part and the sun will pour down onto our pale skins and we will soon forget all the bad weather that we have being having for the previous 9 months.
We flock to the great outdoors, picnic rugs hit the grass, barbeques are lit, we go al fresco with our packed lunch, children go playing in the park and our dogs (remember they are still around in the summer you know) go jumping in and out of lakes, rivers and any water they can find.
And then, when it's time to get back to our office desks, the school bell rings out to signal the end of lunch, or the dog is exhausted after being rescued from the lake, we all retire back indoors and much of what we have walked through outside comes back into the building with us.
This is why we still need good entrance mats in the summer. So, this is a call to arms everybody, be prepared with good entrance matting, whatever the season, or face the consequences and make sure you have your vacuum cleaners and stain remover at the ready!
