BeachThe British heat wave is well and truly on its way, with temperatures forecast to be higher than Barbados!

The perfect way to cool down in these high temperatures is a quick dip in the paddling pool in the garden or even head to an outdoor swimming pool or lido.

As glamorous as sitting around a pool side on a hot and sunny day sounds, it doesn't come without its hazards that can make your day somewhat un-relaxing.  The combination of water, wet feet and concrete floors gives swimming pool sides a high risk of slip and fall accidents.

As well as being wet, the concrete floors around the pool side can also get extremely hot on a sunny day. I'm sure everyone has quickly tip-toed or ran towards the pool or your chair to stop your bare feet from burning on the hot concrete floors! Similarly, this problem could occur in your own garden, with the kids braving the dash across the hot patio towards the paddling pool to cool off.

So what’s the answer? How can the pool side be a safer and more relaxing place?

Swimming Pool

Avoid slips and falls by keeping wet feet off the pool side altogether! Wet area matting provides a slip resistant surface, which is comfortable and safe to walk on in bare feet in areas such as swimming pool decks, changing rooms and showers.

Wet area matting will also keep bare feet cool, comfortable and off the concrete floor, preventing people from running frantically to and from the pool side to avoid burning feet.
