Mats4U Announce Sponsorship of Paul Westerdale Racing
This month Mats4U has embarked on an exciting partnership with Paul Westerdale Racing. Currently racing in the Thundersport GB Motodex Pre National Sport 600 class, where at the time of writing he lies 3rd out of 41 riders, Paul is one of the country’s up and coming talents and Mats4U are proud to have the opportunity to become a part of his development.
The ThundersportGB can be seen on MotorsTV, but if you don’t keep up to date watching it, we plan to follow Paul’s progress and report back here throughout the season.

A Highly Encouraging Start: Cadwell Park 26th & 27th May
Race 4 out of 9 in the season, the first race with Mats4U sponsorship, saw Paul travel to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire, to race at what has been dubbed the UK’s own Nurburgring, due to it’s mix of challenging corners.
Paul described the action on a fantastic first day:
“We had a pretty fraught test day trying to get the bike handling well. On race day (Sunday) I led the majority of race one but had to yield to the championship leader when I started to get arm pump so took a good second place. In the second race I managed to get a third and finish off my best day with Thundersport to date.”
After such a good performance on day 1, Paul and his entourage’s hopes were naturally high for the second day of racing:
“Unfortunately when going out in practice on Monday morning I tucked the front end exiting Charlies 2, a fourth gear flat out right hander, causing pretty extensive damage to the bike.
We tried to get her cobbled back together for the first televised race but had to pull off when moving to the grid when I realised there was a big problem with the front end of the bike.
Once I got back to the paddock we found that I had buckled my front wheel in the mornings crash so after changing the dry tyre onto my wet front wheel we were ready for Race 2.
I started from 5th on the grid and managed to hold off constant challenges to keep 4th place, with my bruising coming out from the earlier crash and arm pump rearing its head again It was probably the most physical race of my life.”
So the perils of racing struck, but this is what makes it such an exciting sport to follow. Despite the set back of the second day, overall the weekend gave a very encouraging set of results and Paul remains seated comfortably in 3rd place in the championship. He remained upbeat and (thankfully for us!) mindful of his new sponsorship:
“Luckily my helmet didn’t get damaged in the crash so the Mats4U logo’s were still very much on display!”
Next up is Oulton Park on the 20th June. Expect more news and photos to come as we follow Paul’s progress. The Mats4U team would like to wish Paul and his crew the very best of luck for the season ahead.

Paul approached Mats4U looking for a paddock logo mat on which to display his bike before races and in the paddock. An HD logo mat was chosen as most suitable for his requirements as the logo had fine detail which required a higher resolution print. HD (High Definition) logo mats allow printing at 10 times the resolution of standard logo mats and are exclusive to Mats4U in the UK.
How to Choose the Perfect Logo Mat: A Guide by Mats4U
Choosing the right logo mat for your business is more than just a matter of aesthetics. A well-chosen logo mat can enhance your brand image, improve safety, and maintain cleanliness. At Mats4U, we understand the importance of selecting the perfect mat to meet your needs. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you make the best choice.
1. Determine the Purpose
Before selecting a logo mat, it’s essential to determine its primary purpose. Are you looking to enhance your brand image, improve safety, or maintain cleanliness? Understanding the main objective will help you choose a mat that meets your specific needs.
2. Consider the Location
The location where the mat will be placed is crucial. Different areas have different requirements:
- Entrance Mats: These mats are designed to trap dirt and moisture, keeping the interior clean and safe. They should be durable and have a high absorption capacity.
- Interior Mats: Used within the building, these mats can be more focused on aesthetics and branding. They should still offer some level of dirt and moisture control.
- Outdoor Mats: These mats need to withstand harsh weather conditions and heavy foot traffic. They should be made from robust materials that can handle the elements.
3. Choose the Right Material
The material of the mat plays a significant role in its performance and durability. Here are some common materials used in logo mats:
- Nylon: Known for its durability and vibrant color retention, nylon is an excellent choice for high-traffic areas.
- Polypropylene: This material is resistant to stains and fading, making it ideal for outdoor use.
- Rubber: Rubber mats are slip-resistant and durable, perfect for areas where safety is a priority.
4. Focus on Design and Branding
Your logo mat is an extension of your brand. Ensure that the design is clear, vibrant, and accurately represents your brand identity. At Mats4U, we offer customization options to help you create a mat that perfectly matches your branding requirements. Consider the following design elements:
- Logo Placement: Ensure your logo is prominently displayed and easily visible.
- Color Scheme: Choose colors that align with your brand and stand out against the mat’s background.
- Text and Graphics: Include any additional text or graphics that enhance your brand message.
5. Evaluate the Mat’s Performance Features
A good logo mat should offer more than just aesthetic appeal. Consider the following performance features:
- Absorption Capacity: The mat should effectively trap dirt and moisture to keep your floors clean and dry.
- Slip Resistance: Ensure the mat has a non-slip backing to prevent accidents.
- Durability: The mat should be able to withstand heavy foot traffic and regular cleaning without losing its appearance or functionality.
6. Size and Shape
The size and shape of the mat should fit the intended space perfectly. Measure the area where the mat will be placed to ensure a proper fit. Mats4U offers a variety of sizes and shapes to accommodate different spaces and requirements.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance is essential to keep your logo mat looking its best. Choose a mat that is easy to clean and maintain. Mats4U provides mats that are designed for easy cleaning, ensuring they remain effective and visually appealing over time.
